Optimizing Your Self-Check-In Station

1. Use Proper Equipment

A well-equipped self-check-in station ensures smooth operation and reduces technical issues. Consider the following:

  • iPad Stand or Kiosk Stand: Using a stable stand keeps the device secure and at a comfortable height for users.
  • Bluetooth Scanner: A compatible scanner speeds up check-in by allowing members to scan their Attendance Cards effortlessly.
  • Full-Screen/Kiosk Mode: You can activate this via your iPad Settings. Locking the iPad into the Browser prevents accidental access to other applications or settings.

2. Maintain Security and Accessibility

A self-check-in station should be easy to use while maintaining security:

  • Position Within View of the Front Desk: This prevents unauthorized use and allows staff to assist members when needed.
  • Secure the Devices: Use security locks or mounts to prevent theft or accidental damage.
  • Check Connectivity Regularly: Ensure the iPad remains connected to Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth scanner functions properly.

3. Enhance Member Experience

A user-friendly system improves the overall check-in process:

  • Provide Clear Signage: Display simple instructions to guide members through check-in.
  • Perform Regular Maintenance: Keep software updated and check for technical issues to avoid disruptions.

**Tip**

Encourage members to use self-check-in by offering brief training and addressing any concerns. A well-maintained system ensures a positive experience for both members and staff.
